VE/COIL Institute
Goals and Outcomes
The Institute for Virtual Exchange and COIL Centers of Excellence is designed to build institutional capacity for sustainable, high-impact global learning. Through mentored clinics, role-specific assignments, and collaborative cohort activities, participating institutions work toward the following goals:

Expand access to global learning by embedding VE/COIL into the curriculum.
Strengthen institutional commitment by aligning VE/COIL with strategic priorities.
Support faculty, instructional designers, and administrators in designing and scaling VE/COIL modules.
Build authentic and sustainable partnerships across U.S. and MENA higher education institutions.
Advance career relevance by connecting VE/COIL to workforce readiness and employer engagement.
Expected Outcomes
By the conclusion of the Institute, participating institutions will have:
Designed and piloted one or more VE/COIL modules connected to credit-bearing courses.
Produced role- and track-specific deliverables (e.g., activity maps, module plans, stakeholder memos, case studies, mentoring resources).
Developed an institutional action plan for long-term integration and sustainability.
Shared outcomes and lessons learned with the cohort during a Showcase and Closing Ceremony.
Earned recognition through digital credentials as either a Center of Excellence or an Emerging Leader in VE/COIL.
