2022 Institute on ePortfolios

Location

The kick off event for this year long Institute experience will occur in January at AAC&U’s 2021 Forum on Digital Learning and ePortfolios in conjunction with AAC&U’s Annual Meeting. All kick-off events will take place online. Following the virtual kick-off meeting, participants will each work with a primary Institute Faculty Liaison the remainder of the calendar year. In the Spring and Fall, participants will have two formal virtual opportunities to reconnect with other participants and Institute faculty. A second face-to-face meeting will occur at AAEEBL's 2021 Annual Meeting, which will take place at Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) in Salt Lake City, UT in July 2021. AAEEBL is the international professional development organization for ePortfolio practitioners and researchers. The third Institute partner organization, NASPA, will provide optional opportunities for ePortfolio Institute participants to present at their Fall student affairs meeting. AAC&U's 2022 Forum on Digital Learning and ePortfolios in January of that year will be located in Washington, DC and will host closing activities and events for the Institute.

Looking to Summer 2021, SLCC is Utah's largest college with the most diverse student body. It serves more than 60,000 students on 10 campuses and with online classes. It provides flexible scheduling and serves all ages and a wide array of interests, including an exceptional range of academic and career-oriented options. SLCC requires, in all General Education courses, students to create an ePortfolio that contains their significant assignments as well as reflections about those assignments. The ePortfolio also allows students to document their goals and extra-curricular activities. SLCC provides an ideal context a mid-Institute event for the Institute.

SLCC is located near the Great Salt Lake, the largest saltwater lake in the western hemisphere, and fantastic outdoor locations, including the Wasatch Mountains, the Oquirrh Range, and the Great Basin. The campus is located approximately 11.6 miles from the Salt Lake City International Airport. Salt Lake City is easily accessible by air and serves as a hub for key airlines.
