2026-27 Institute on AI, Pedagogy, and the Curriculum
Institute Goals
To support the development and implementation of ambitious AI action plans that respond to the challenges and opportunities of AI in teaching and learning, teams will work to
- articulate a clear, compelling, and communicable purpose for their AI-informed pedagogical or curricular initiative, including goals, anticipated learning gains, student success measures, and benefits for faculty, students, and the institution;
- create and implement a comprehensive AI action plan with measurable benchmarks for gauging progress and impact;
- stay informed about emerging AI models, tools, policies, and expectations within the world of work;
- develop evidence-based theory-to-practice models that connect research and effective approaches to course, curriculum, and pedagogical design;
- explore and adopt new approaches to assignments, feedback, grading, and academic integrity;
- identify strategies for successful pedagogical and curricular/cocurricular change that reflect deep understanding of AI and account for shifting student demographics, transfer pathways, and inclusive standards for success;
- articulate thoughtful policies and practices that address ethical concerns and promote equitable outcomes; and
- utilize evidence-based innovation and leadership strategies to increase the likelihood of successfully implementing AI reforms.
