2025-26 Institute on Open Education
Goals
To advance the development and enactment of a campus transformation action plan designed to accelerate open education engagement and adoption, each team will work to
- articulate a clear, compelling, and communicable purpose for the open education work or initiative under development or expansion, including key goals, affordability aspirations, student learning gains, student success metrics, and intended benefits for faculty, students, and the institution;
- discern evidence-based theory-to-practice models and strategies that connect research and scholarship with effective approaches to developing, utilizing, and adopting open education resources (OER) and open education practices (OEP);
- identify collaborators and form key partnerships with those on campus who can broaden the argument for resources, support, and adoption of OER and OEP;
- explore and implement GenAI strategies that support, facilitate, and/or enable the goals developed for the individual campus context;
- utilize evidence-based innovation and leadership strategies to increase the probability of successful scaling of the initiative; and
- create a comprehensive action plan with measurable benchmarks for charting success for team members and the campus as a whole to implement.
