CALL FOR PROPOSALS

Overview

The Project Kaleidoscope (PKAL) Regional Networks provide low-cost, effective professional development opportunities for STEM faculty and administrators to foster a caring community, explore and advance modern undergraduate STEM pedagogies, disseminate findings from undergraduate STEM research and practice, and promote STEM faculty career advancement.

The inaugural Texas PKAL Regional Network meeting welcomes all faculty and administrators from public and private 2- and 4-year higher education institutions to submit proposals for poster presentations for its upcoming Regional Network Meeting. Proposals that are data-driven and directly aligned with the Regional Network Meeting theme are encouraged. However, other proposal topics that extend beyond this year’s theme and focus on philosophical questions and theories, as well as evaluation and assessment measures for improving undergraduate STEM education are also welcomed.

Meeting Theme

The inaugural Texas PKAL Regional Network Meeting aims to create a viable community of practice for STEM faculty, which will focus on resource sharing and best practices in undergraduate STEM teaching. Our Regional Meeting will also incorporate time for networking among presenters and participants to discuss new ideas and strategically plan for long-term Network sustainability.

Presentation Format

All attendees are invited to present a poster at the meeting if they wish.

Posters will be displayed on a standard-sized 4’ x 5’ poster board. Actual poster sizes are expected to be no larger than 3’ x 4’. All supplies necessary for hanging your poster (i.e., push pins) will be available at the meeting. Please be mindful that the poster session is not equipped with electrical outlets or small tables for video displays.

All posters should be set up at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the session. Presenters should remain with their posters for the entire session. Posters should be removed immediately at the end of the session. Unclaimed posters will be discarded.

Poster Proposal Preparation

To submit a poster proposal, please indicate the title of your presentation during online registration. Your completed meeting registration will serve as confirmation of poster proposal acceptance.
