On-Demand Webinar
Lessons from the Field
October 1, 2025 | –
This free webinar will showcase how innovative campuses are transforming general education by meaningfully integrating the humanities across disciplines through the Teagle Foundation’s Cornerstone: Learning for Living initiative. Panelists from Augustana College, California Polytechnic State University, Stanford University, and Victoria College will share their experiences with using transformative texts as both a pedagogical and curricular innovation to engage students in humanistic thought and inquiry in individual courses and across general education pathways.
Participants will learn practical strategies for developing courses anchored in common readings and cross-disciplinary clusters that connect the humanities to technical and pre-professional fields. Panelists will also discuss lessons learned around implementation challenges, faculty engagement, and assessing student outcomes.
The session will conclude with guidance from the Teagle Foundation for institutions interested in applying to join the Cornerstone initiative. This includes tips for crafting competitive concept papers, which serve as the first step in the application process. Concept papers are due December 1, 2025.
