Leadership Under Pressure

Colleagues from AAC&U and Inside Higher Ed met for a conversation about new and long-standing challenges facing colleges and universities—and their presidents. The starting point for the conversation was Inside Higher Ed’s 2025 Survey of College and University Presidents, conducted with Hanover Research. In addition to asking presidents why their jobs are becoming more difficult, the survey explored the factors contributing to declining public confidence in higher education, campus speech issues, artificial intelligence, and more.

The webinar also shares Inside Higher Ed and AAC&U’s resources for current and emerging leaders in higher education, amid the pressures on institutions and their leaders under the second Trump administration.
