
Tim Laquintano
Dean of Arts, Humanities, and Interdisciplinary Programs; Associate Professor of English & Director of College Writing Program, Lafeyette College
Timothy Laquintano holds a PhD in English with a specialty in writing and rhetoric from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is associate professor of English and associate provost for advising at Lafayette College. Laquintano's research uses qualitative methods to study how ordinary writers implement new communications technologies. His book Mass Authorship and the Rise of Self-Publishing won the 2016 Computers and Writing Distinguished Book Award. He is co-editor of TextGenEd: Teaching with Text Generation Technologies, an open-access collection of resources to help faculty teach writing with and about large language models. He is currently working on a qualitative study of how workplace writers adopt (and sometimes abandon) AI tools. In the last three years, Laquintano has given over twenty invited workshops at colleges and universities to help address AI in the curriculum.
