Rohan Jowallah

Dr. Rohan Jowallah is an experienced educator, researcher, and curriculum developer with over 30 years of teaching experience across the Caribbean, England, and the United States, spanning from elementary to university levels. He currently serves as a Senior Instructional Designer at the University of Central Florida (UCF), where he leads and supports innovations in teaching and learning. In recognition of his impact, he was recently awarded the 2025 USDLA Gold Star Award for Outstanding Leadership in Distance Education.
Dr. Jowallah’s research focuses on the integration of emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, with an emphasis on AI ethics, curriculum design, and critical AI literacy. He has contributed to the development of global AI policy through his active involvement on international committees and expert panels.
A prolific academic, Dr. Jowallah has authored numerous book chapters and two published books, with his latest work exploring the intersection of AI, pedagogy, and inclusion in education. He is a highly sought-after speaker, having presented at both national and international forums—including UNESCO in Paris, keynotes in the Caribbean and the G20/IFIP Inclusion Summit in Brazil.
His influence also extends online through an active YouTube channel with over 17,000 subscribers and more than 400 educational videos, amplifying his commitment to accessible and inclusive education worldwide.
