Jonathan McMichael is an educator, librarian, and AI strategist who helps faculty integrate emerging technologies to advance teaching and learning in Arizona State University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. In his current role as AI Learning Solutions Specialist, he develops AI literacy programs for faculty and staff, designs AI-enabled teaching and learning tools, and builds data-informed systems to support student success.
Previously, Jonathan led campus-wide information literacy initiatives at the University of Mississippi, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Southern Methodist University. His work included designing authentic, interdisciplinary research assignments, creating
information literacy curricula and faculty development programs, teaching graduate-level courses on learning theory and pedagogy for librarians, and establishing a multi-year professional internship program grounded in a community of practice model.
He holds a BA in Education from the University of Kentucky and a master’s in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
