Enoch Hale

Director, Center for Teaching & Learning & Director, Academic Technology, California Polytechnic Humboldt

Enoch Hale is the director of the Center for Teaching & Learning as well as the director of Academic Technology at Cal Poly Humboldt. Dr. Hale is responsible for cultivating a rich intellectual environment for educational development throughout the university within and across instructional and technological modalities. In doing so, Dr. Hale works to link teaching excellence to student success, advance the scholarship of teaching and learning and evidence-based instructional practices, and advocate for teaching and learning environments that maximize opportunities for all students and faculty to thrive. Dr. Hale researches and publishes on topics related to faculty development, engaged learning methodologies, and critical thinking. He has taught multiple undergraduate and graduate courses including Educational Psychology, Introduction to Interdisciplinary Thinking, Inquiry & the Craft of Argument, and Teaching, Learning, and Technology and the Future of Higher Education. He currently helps lead the Cal Poly Humboldt’s AI work including the development of teaching certifications, faculty learning communities, and resources for students to promote discernable use of AI systems in their learning journeys.
