Overview
This three-week online AAC&U VE/COIL clinic focuses on designing and applying assessment strategies to strengthen learning in virtual exchange. Participants will create practical tools for capturing student learning, reflection, and intercultural growth—and for using that evidence to inform faculty development and institutional improvement.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will
- develop course- and program-level assessment strategies for VE/COIL;
- analyze how student learning evidence can inform institutional improvement and accountability;
- design feedback loops connecting student reflection, faculty practice, and institutional goals;
- apply equitable, culturally responsive assessment approaches in global contexts.
About the Clinic Series
AAC&U’s VE/COIL Clinics are short, theme-based professional development sessions combining asynchronous learning with one to two live sessions. Participants receive an AAC&U-issued digital credential upon completion.
Participants explore strategies, tools, and frameworks to strengthen global learning through virtual exchange and collaborative online international learning (COIL).
