Event Technology Specialist, Conferences & Events

AAC&U, seeks a tech-savvy, self-motivated, detail-oriented Event Technology Specialist to assist the Conference & Events team in all aspects of the development and delivery of AAC&U's conferences, events, and related projects. In addition, the position will provide support to the meetings portfolio consisting of an annual series of working conferences and events, collaboratively designed, and led by experienced practitioners and drawing from AAC&U's member campuses and projects.

The Event Technology Specialist is a core Conference & Events team member. This position will report to the Director of Conference and Events. In this role, the Event Technology Specialist will support the Conference & Events department’s use of technology and integrations, continually monitor new technologies and industry trends, and advise the team on all features and tools to enhance LMS functionality.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and configure the Learning Management Systems for all AAC&U conferences and events in collaboration with the Director, Conference and Events, Education Program Manager, and program offices.
  • Proactively maintain and update content into LMS platforms, conference websites, platforms, and apps
  • Serve as an in-house expert of LMS and ensure that all products are needed and are used efficiently.
  • Develop standard and customized reports generated from LMS, including proposal submission tracking, proposal review performance, user performance, and other reports as needed.
  • Provide strong customer service on products and programs, including creating user-facing guides and implementing enhancements.
  • Coordinate the 3rd party assignments for virtual/hybrid sessions/presentations with tech production company/producers.
  • Work with the Conference and Events team to evaluate and recommend continuous improvements.
  • Provide ongoing support as needed.

EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of previous experience in online education development and Learning Management System (LMS) management.
  • Experience with the following components/systems are required:
    • Learning management systems (preferably Higher Logic, Cadmium, CVENT, Zoom and similar platforms)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Appropriate technical skills required for proficiency in the use of technology (Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, database management, etc.) and able to learn new technology as required.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and understand project management basics
  • Ability to travel, including weekends.
  • Experience in higher education, either with an association or on campus, is a plus.
